I'm going to be taking many trips up to Vancouver, BC from now till May for work. So why not check out the specialty coffee scene?

My first stop was 49th Parellel! A famous wholesale company that has their products featured in almost every market. The store is incredibly crowded. It's a small, thin spot in a busy area of Vancouver. It's nicely decorated though! And guess what? No wifi. That doesn't sit well with those of us who need wifi to message with others w/o racking up the roaming charges.

Oh well. We're here to drink coffee!

The baristas were incredibly nice, and very professional, even though they were getting slammed.

First I tried the espresso. It's their standard Epic Espresso blend, which consists of some Brazil and Colombia. It was bright up front with a clean finish, but it was watery.

Taking that espresso and throwing milk in it resulted in a decent capp. That latte art is ridiculous though!
